In March, four students spent half a week immersed in the Portland community through Campus Ministry's Urban Plunge. This year's theme was Justice at Home.

Students had the opportunity to learn more about homelessness in Portland and serve at local organizations that help our unhoused neighbors access food and shelter. What a wonderful way to see God in all things and serve our community! Thank you to Ms. McNabb and Mr. LaValle for serving as chaperones.

Community Service is core to who we are

The community service program at Cheverus supports the development of our Grad at Grad to be loving, committed to social justice, and to have experience with the wider community to put into action being people for and with others. Love in action is the central tenet of our service program.

As St. Ignatius said to his companions, "Go forth and set the world on fire." Campus Ministry offers service and immersion opportunities, such as the Urban Plunge, that students can participate in to fulfill their independent requirement.
