It has been a great first week of classes. This year, we welcomed seven new faculty and staff members. Welcome to Cheverus!

Ms. Rose Antonecchia joins us to teach Spanish in our World Languages department. A graduate of the University of Massachusetts and Middlebury College, Ms. Antonecchia has taught at The Hill School in Pennsylvania, Lewiston High School, and, most recently, at North Yarmouth Academy and Greely High School.

Ms. Maggie Baum will serve as our new JVC Volunteer in our Campus Ministry department. Ms. Baum graduated in May from the College of the Holy Cross with a bachelor of arts in anthropology; gender, sexuality, and women's studies; and French and francophone studies. While at Holy Cross, Ms. Baum served in the student government, the admissions department, and the theater department.

One of two teachers joining us from Saint Dominic Academy, Mrs. Sophie Daigle is teaching in the science department. A graduate of the University of Maine at Orono with a bachelor's degree in Bioengineering, Mrs. Daigle taught Physical Sciences at St. Dom's for four years. Before her time there, Mrs. Daigle served as a FOCUS missionary on college campuses in New Jersey and Rhode Island.

Ms. Katie Fitzpatrick is the new director of summer camps and youth engagement in the athletics department. Ms. Fitzpatrick attended Westminster College in Pennsylvania, where she received her bachelors of arts in early childhood education and special education pre-K-4. While at Westminster, Ms. Fitzpatrick was a member of the women's basketball team. Before coming to Cheverus, she taught 1st grade in Lewiston while coaching girls basketball at Cheverus.

A native of Chicago, Ms. Maggie McNabb joins the theology department after serving as a JVC Volunteer, working in our Campus Ministry department last year. Ms. McNabb has a bachelor's degree with a double major in religious studies and Spanish from St. Mary's College, where she was a member of nearby Notre Dame's Fighting Irish Marching Band. She is part of the Urban Catholic Teaching Corp, a two-year program where she will earn a master's degree in curriculum & instruction from Boston College Lynch School of Education and Human Development.

Mr. Brad Miklavic also joins us from St. Dom's and will teach History. A native of Cape Elizabeth, Brad spent much of the last decade working for the State Department in various locations in Asia before returning to Maine with his family. With degrees in economics and political science from the University of Pennsylvania, Mr. Miklavic taught 7th and 8th grade History and coached basketball at St. Dom's last year.

Finally, Ms. Anna Solomon is teaching in the English department. With a bachelor's degree in political studies from Pitzer College and a master's in teaching from Mount Holyoke, Ms. Solomon has been teaching as part of the high school program at Maine Coast Semester at Chewonki since 2023
